Antivirus Tools
Your office computer should already have an Antivirus software managed by DOM IT or your primary IT support provider. It’s extremely important to have Antivirus on your home computer as well. UAB IT recommends Microsoft Security Essentials for PCs and SOPHOS for MAC.

UAB offers free or heavily discounted software packages (i.e. Microsoft Office, EndNote, Adobe) for its employees, even for home/personal computers. When will UAB disable authentication?
Disabling basic authentication. On March 5, 2021, UAB IT will disable basic authentication to Office 365 and require modern authentication, which is capable of two-factor authentication and would allow users to log in with Duo, providing more protection for their accounts and data.
