What is a remote position at FSU?

FSU is a vibrant residential campus, and as such, the majority of employees must be on-site to support the University environment. The designation of Remote Position, is position-based not person-based, and requires the approval of the Chief Human Resources Officer.

What is the FSU VPN (Virtual Private Network)?

The FSU VPN (Virtual Private Network) is designed to allow faculty, staff, courtesy appointments, and university-sponsored external vendors to securely "tunnel" into campus over public networks (not managed by FSU), and access services as if they were on campus. Install Cisco AnyConnect onto your device to start using the FSU VPN.

Is there any personal information about an FSU employee on the website?

FSU employee and student personal information on this website is for official business use only.

How do I access the FSU virtual computer lab?

Sign in to FSU’s 24/7 virtual computer lab to access campus software from anywhere. All you need is your FSUID and password plus a Wi-Fi connection.

Windows 8-10

There should now be a new network connection available if you left-click the Network icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. Click on it and sign in. Optionally choose to have Windows remember your credentials.

On the start bar, to the right hand side in the task bar, click on the network and sharing icon. Open the Network and sharing center. Or navigate to the control panel, then click Network and Internet, then click Network and Sharing Center.

Off-Campus Authentication

When you are off-campus, you will automatically be asked to login using your FSUID and password whenever you click on a link from our website or resources. You should login using the same credentials you use to log into Canvas and your FSU webmail. VPN is not required or recommended for accessing library resources off-campus.

An AWLA can also promote administrative efficiencies (e.g., reducing office and parking space), reduce traffic congestion and transportation costs, support continuity of operations plans, and sustain the recruitment and retention of a highly skilled workforce by enhancing work/life balance.
