BCIT Employees can request to use AccessAnywhere to access a small number of business applications requiring elevated or administrator priviliges. The preferred method to remotely access all other BCIT systems is by using myVPN.

What is IT services at BCIT?

IT Services Welcome to Information Technology Services (IT Services) at BCIT. The IT Services department is responsible for providing technology services and support programs that address the advanced technology and essential computing and communications needs of learners, faculty, and staff.

How do I report an issue with a BCIT application?

If an employee is having an issue with an application, they should contact the BCIT Service Desk by email BCIT.ServiceDesk@baltimorecity.gov or call 410-396-6648. BCIT is currently working on resolving any application issues.

What are my responsibilities as a remote worker at BCIT?

Your supervisor/manager will be responsible for tracking this equipment, by recording device type and the BCIT Asset Tag number for monitors, docks, printers, and keyboards. All incidental costs related to working remotely, such as residential utility costs, cleaning, internet, phone and any other related costs, are your responsibility.

Protecting personal and confidential information

Whenever information relating to BCIT business is used outside of the office or the classroom, there is an increased risk of loss or compromise. BCIT is required by the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) to keep all personal information in its custody or under its control safe and secure.

Video conferencing and collaboration

Zoom is a video conferencing tool for faculty and staff. It’s currently BCIT’s recommended tool for scheduled single and recurring meetings for groups of up to 100 people.

Secure remote access

myVPN should be the first choice for students, staff, and faculty to connect to BCIT’s secure network to access common resources like printers and shared network drives. and business applications such as Banner and Cognos. myVPN will give you the same experience as if you were on campus connected to the BCIT network.

Steps to resolve your ergonomic concern at home
